RE: HTTPS and Sametime Meeting Services in the DMZ

Hi

You only need HTTPS for authentication and you can use HTTPS for that. The sametime meeting traffic cannot go through HTTPS tunnel but that doesn't matter as HTTPS for that is not needed because sametime encrypts its meeting room traffic.

So you can force people to use HTTPS when using browser to access your sametime meeting pages, but when they actually attend meeting, the meeting room client will tunnel the traffic through port 80(no SSL) and encrypt it(using it's own encryption).

There used to be way to tunnel all traffic through SSL but it was quite useless and only took resources with no gain as the ssl only encrypted data between sametime mux and domino http server (internal server traffic).
