I have some Mac users that have started to get the message "Encountered Unknown Record Type" when opening documents in my application.    I tried to have them open using Script Debugger but it was not available on their Notes Client.   Has anyone seen this error and have any idea what might be causing it.   I have several script routines that the opening code goes through,

Details around the client
This doesn't seem to be a known issue.

What is the exact version of the Notes client?
Are the users using the 64-bit Notes client for Mac?
Is this only happening for that specific application and not in standard Notes databases (mail, calendar, log, address book, etc.)?
Have you tried identifying the exact line by removing one part of the script at a time?

Encountered Unknown Record Type

User has 9.0.1 Notes client  - 64 Bit

Only is happening with my application.

We have worked through some of the code looking for issues that are shown in this document

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSVRGU_9.0.0/com.ibm.designer.domino.main.doc/LSAZ_MACINTOSH_PLATFORM_DIFFERENCES.html

but did not have any success.

We have also have this script in subforms that are called by the main form.   Action buttons that have associated Hide formulas can not be seen by the Mac users that are visible to Windows notes users.  I have tried moving some of the buttons to the main form with limited success - is there a limit to the number of buttons available on a Mac Client?

Encountered Unknown Record Type

We were finally able to localize the problem to one of the actions on a subform being used.   It never was clear exactly what caused the issue but I rebuilt the action one section at a time testing each time that I added sections of code and was able to eliminate the error.
