Hello,

New with Notes 8.5.2 is the feature to mark your contacts private. You can even set this feature in a policy setting to be default. But this seems to be a feature only for contacts created in the users maildatabase.

If I create the contact in the local contacts database (PNAB) or on a mobile device synced with Traveler, the contact is not set private, altough private is default. Technically this makes perfect sense, but from users point of view...

Are there some options, I could set in addition, I missed?

Local contacts 'Mark Private' option
I did not check it on traveller. However on notes client local contacts (names.nsf) we have a option to mark the existing or new contacts as private. Can you please check if you can see these in your contacts?

For existing contact, right click and select mark as > private. You can also select it from Action menu as below:

Cannot see those options

Hello,

Thank you for your thoughts.

Unfortunately I cannot see these options you mentioned (I cannot see the screenshots you supposedly published, neither). I did apply the most current version (9.0 15.02.2013) of the pernames template, though. Are you sure, your names is not customized or is there some option I can add somewhere to enable this feature?

Thank you again.

Manuel

Contacts owner
Thanks for feedback.

Can you please check if the Contacts Owner is the same user as notes user logged in?

Dead on!

The Owner field did - for some reason - contain only the Common Name of the user, not the abbreviated Notes User Name.

That solves at least on side of my problem. The Traveler part can only be "solved" by IBM.

Thank you very much!
