ini mailfile location

The mailfile was mistakenly installed to a UNC location. If I edit the ini file to change the location to use a drive-letter (as required for indexing and some other functions), the mailfile location gets changed back to a UNC location.

Here's what I do:

  • Quit Notes (i.e., Exit)
  • Open the ini file in Notepad
  • Find the mailfile key
  • Change the key from a UNC path to a drive-letter path
  • Exit notepad and save the ini file
  • Restart Notes

The indexing function still failed with an 'invalid drive' message. If I examine the ini file, the mailfile is again using a UNC path.

Does anyone have any ideas what is changing it back after I fix it or how to properly switch the location to use a drive-letter rather than a UNC path?

Thanks

Likely the location doc
Preferences->Locations->Edit, check mail file settings.

Thanks. That fixed it.

Thanks. The location doc had slipped my mind. I kept thinking it was only kept in the ini file. Everything is working fine now.
