Disk Space tab missing on Lotus Administrator 9

The tab "Disk Space" is missing on Lotus Administrator 9 (Gold and Beta) when connecting to some servers, while other servers have this tab. It worked with 8.5.3 and previous releases.

Please run these commands
On the server, after the Domino server has been running for 5 minutes, run the command "sh stat disk" and see what it shows.  If nothing shows then set the notes.ini variable EnableRemoteDiskStats=1, restart the server, and see if the stats then show up. .  If something does show then type : "show stat disk" and post the results here.

RE: Disk Space tab missing on Lotus Administrator 9

The problem is not with server statistic. The problem is in GUI. If you open Notes Administrator, File tab, you see on the right under Tools a section with several options and commands. Well, Disk Space section is missing in some servers (and others not)

disk space tab issue
Hi David,

Your statement "The problem is not with server statistic. The problem is in GUI. ... Well, Disk Space section is missing in some servers (and others not)".  You have to understand, those stats you see are pulled from the servers themselves, so what could be happening is that on the servers where you see no disk space it is due to that server not seeing the disk space for some reason.  By default, the domino server has disk stats only for what it perceives are "local" disks as defined by our list of "local" filesystem types.  So, as Mark was saying, for any server for which you don't see disk stats please go directly to the server console itself and issue the "sh stat disk" command and see what it comes up with - this is our first level of debugging this type of issue, going to the "source" of the data.  If you don't get any disk stats with this command then try enabling remote disk stats on that server and trying again.  Please let us know how it all goes.  Thanks!

RE: Disk Space tab missing on Lotus Administrator 9

Hello

Thanks for you reply. When I enter "sh st disk" on a server I can't see the Disk Space statistics tab under Tools, I get following information

[0A3C:0008-0FB0] sh st disk
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.C.Free = 20,822,089,728
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.C.Size = 42,842,714,112
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.C.Type = NTFS
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.D.Free = 353,483,300,864
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.D.Size = 966,231,322,624
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.D.Type = NTFS
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.Fixed = 2
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   Disk.Remote = 0
[0A3C:0008-0FB0]   8 statistics found

However, i don't see the Disk Space option in Tools, while I can see them if I have Lotus Administrator 8.5.3

I think that the problem is not related with local/SAN storage type, or physical/virtual environment, because I have more than 50 servers and I can see the feature is some of them and others not. I tried to figure out if it was related with the Domino release version or applied FP, but not clues at the moment.

Best regards

A few questions...
So that we can attempt to reproduce in house, could you specify:

1) What the OS is?
2) What is the Domino server version on that OS?

Thank you.

RE: Disk Space tab missing on Lotus Administrator 9

Hello

It happens with Windows 2003 32bits and with Windows 2008 R2 64bits, regardless Domino version (8.5.3 or 8.5.3FP2 or 8.5.3FP3)

For example, we have a physical server, Windows 2003 32bits, running Domino 8.5.3 where we can see "Disk Space" section. If switch to another physical server from other office running also Windows 2003 32bits and Domino 8.5.3, the "Disk Space" reappears.

We realized that it also happen with physical vs. virtual server, or physical servers with local storage vs SAN storage. In other words, we didnt find any pattern yet.

Thank you

PS: I uploaded some images..

RE: Disk Space tab missing on Lotus Administrator 9

Hello,

I Have the same problem here on some servers.

The problem exists for example for Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit and Domino 8.5.2 FP2.

But on the other hand for the same OS and Domino 8.5.3FP3 all looks fine.

Anyway my friend said that he has same problem for Domino 8.5.3 but can't tell which FP.
