Notes.ini reverts from drive letter to UNC path

Hi,

I originally set up Notes to find the mail file using a UNC path. After discovering that these were not supported, I changed the path to use a drive letter. Everything seems to work except that after I shut down and reopen Notes, the mail file path in the ini-file reverts back to a UNC path.

e.g., Here's an excerpt from my notes.ini file:

Incoming Mail Sound=Windows Exclamation
Location=Office (Network),9D6,CN=Michael Quigley/O=TheWay
MailFile=h:\IBMNotes\mquigley.nsf
MailType=1
Maximized=0

(h: points to \\s03\home\pgmmjq) After restarting Notes, here's the same section of the ini file:

Incoming Mail Sound=Windows Exclamation
Location=Office (Network),9D6,CN=Michael Quigley/O=TheWay
MailFile=\\s03\home\pgmmjq\IBMNotes\mquigley.nsf
MailType=1
Maximized=0

Any ideas what I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

MailFile Location
If you set Mail file location in your Location document to "On server" , then you may want to try using the mail path on the mail server.

For example my mail file is on mail01/mailfile.nsf , then I would configure on the Location document.

Mail tab > Mail file location > On server
        > Mail file > mail01/mailfile.nsf

Hope this helps.

check connection documents

Check to see if you have any connection documents in your personal address book for your home mail server.  See if the location is listed as a UNC or TCPIP Address.

you can also look at your $Connections view to see how it lists the mail server.
