'Insert' key not working on Notes 9.0.1 on Mac Yosemite

The 'Insert' key in Notes Mail is to switch the Read/Unread state. However, the keystroke is not working on Notes 9.0.1 64bit on Mac Yosemite. When I press down 'Insert' from my external keyboard, Notes opens 'Online help' for me. If I use Fn+Return key combination on internal keyboard (which should be Insert as well), my Notes just open the whole mail....

I will need a hotkey to mark selected mails as Read, any sugguesstion? Thanks.

Shift+Command+U has always been the unread hotkey combination for Mac Notes
Unsure how you had insert working unless you were using Notes 7x or basic Notes. Insert only worked on Windows. Shift+Command+U has always been the read/unread toggle key combo for mac standard client since 8x. Navigating the menu shows you the keyboard shortcuts. Here it is on a Mac

Thanks Scott, the cmd+shit+u works

Thanks Scott, the cmd+shit+u works.

However I was using Notes 9.0.1 on Windows and recently transfered to Mac. The menu option"Mark Selected Read   Insert" is still there in my Mac.
