Notes Browser Plugin standalone instal with prior Notes client installations

The wiki documentation says the installer will first uninstall any prior installations of Notes.

When I ran the standalone installer, it detected a previous version of Notes (8.5.3) but did not uninstall it and instead the plugin installation needed to be terminated. So I guess you need to manually uninstall any prevcious Notes version on the machine?

Is this working as designed, or is something wrong with my setup?
