I am trying to install the Notes 9 client on 64 bit LINUX  but it keeps asking me to install a lot of library files (shown in the image below) when trying to run smartupgrade.sh - where do I get these files from ? Can anyone point me to instructions for  installation on 64 bit Red Hat LINUX ?

[root@ralbz2097 tmp]# uname -a
Linux ralbz2097 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Nov 24 14:35:28 EST 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Also why does the smartupgrade say that the Installation was successful ??

re: Installing Notes 9 client on 64 bit LINUX

Tony,

You need the old versions of libs and related materials.  You need the correct arch matching the IBM binary--what you are seeing is a different arch.  IBM Lotus Notes 9.0 Social Edition has only been released in 32b--I am really hoping they will release a 64b client.

Are you subscribed to RH for updates to your RHEL?  I'm going to guess not (but could be wrong) because I believe RedHat supports 32b installs on their x86_64 RHEL (which is how the LN 9 client installs).  If you are up-to-date then something is wrong and you either need to troubleshoot why your RHEL isn't seeing 32b arch or you can simply add the 32b repos you need manually.

I just documented my install (not that there was much to document) but it lets you see what I ran into which is exactly what you are seeing.  If you have any questions, post here.

I documented my install in this forum: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ndseforum.nsf/xpTopicThread.xsp?documentId=14F74C401F96C38E85257BD5007F65AF
