Could anyone please suggest a way I can configure the 'find' function (when you start typing and it automatically fills in a search field) to search for all mail, instead of just for the view I'm currently in? Or, alternatively, suggest a way I can set up a hotkey for the search all mail field (instead of having to click on it every time)?

Ideally I'd love to be able to type from any view what I'm looking for (throughout all mail) and have the results immediately show as they're found (a la Google Instant). I know this is a very tall order, but if someone out there could make this happen I'd love you forever.

In the search drop down on the top shortcut bar on the right
You can pick All Maill, and that will show results from all of mail. Will that solve your issue?
