Hello,

We are upgrading to Domino 9 and also installed oracle 11g client on domino server machine. Our code is using LCConnection("Oracle8") to connect to oracle db but it is not. It is giving below error.

Error (217): Error creating product object at line no..138

I have change Oracle8 argument to Oracle, even then also it is not working.

Please suggest.

Thank you,

Mickey

Usage notes

Mickey,

Please see here for usage notes. Note that this specifies using lowercase for the library name.

LCconnection metaconnector

Thank you Chad,

I am using metaconnector ("Oracle8) with Oracle 9 in existing env. Since we are upgrading to Domino 9 with ORacle 11g. I am not sure which metaconnector I should use because it is not working with Oracle or Oracle8. Also, I do not know where Oracle8 metaconnector defined in existing env.

Your response is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mickey

Did you try with lowercase?

This error is known to occur if you don't use lowercase on a platform that is case-sensitive. Please see this Technote for details.

LCconnection metaconnector

Our domino platform is running on Windows and I have used lowercase and still it is not working. What is the Oracle8 parameter we pass in LCConnection. Do we have to define this connection anywhere on domino platform.

Have a look here

Take a look at this documentation to see if you can find where this information is stored. It's outside my area of expertise, so if that doesn't turn up anything, it's probably time to open a PMR so we can engage a specialist in this area.
