FP9's "inline view indexing" vs FP3 "live view refresh"

Is FP9's "inline view indexing" the same as the 9.0.1 FP3 live view refresh that will show the user stale data, if the real-time update had not occurred yet?

Essentially, is this eventual consistency?

They are different
The inline view indexing should use less resources (memory/cpu) and will have the view always up to date, there is no showing of out of date data. Essentially the view is updated as part of the note update. There are some types of views that aren't supported and I believe there are some NSF calls that don't update the view (I could be wrong, it's been a while since I was involved in that).
