Domino Admin - Reset User's Password

When using the Domino Administrator to reset a user's password, there is a rather handy "random password" button that generates a strong password.

However, password policy for users is such that at least 1 special character needs to be included in the password but the random password generator ignores policy settings.

Is there a way of configuring this anywhere (maybe .ini settings?) so that at least a minimum of n "special characters" are generated somewhere in a random password button press?

eg RANDOM_PWD_SPECIALS = 1,()!"£$%^&*;<>{}[]+

Domino Development advised about this previously  ..  

Random password generation is not supported for the custom password policy.

Custom password policy settings will not support random password generation, either through User Registration or the User Security

custom passwor policy will be taken into effect

Even if the random password seems not listening to the custom password policy, but the user will be prompted to change the password after the policy is applied, as customer password is taken into effect, then the user has to change the password in order to meet the policy requirement.


other known issues: SPR # GFAL98TM4S(Random password reset in vault server error password does not meet the requirement)

Note: to understand this SPR please look at Dev's comments:

IBM Domino Admin doc: "Custom password policy settings will not: support random password generation...."
However, support for the minimum password quality/length may be added.
