I have recently upgraded my pc to windows 10 64bit and have install fix pack 4. One error that is annoying me is that opening an attachment be it pdf or jpeg windows 10 keeps popping up with a dialog box "how do you want to open this file".

If it is pdf it is Microsoft edge if it is jpeg it is photos that is at the top. This is every time then I run default programs and changed pdf to adobe reader went to notes double clicked on the pdf and opens straight away with adobe reader. The changed the jpeg to be open by paint and it opens straight away. This is beginning to get very annoying that you have to keep changing default programs for every attachment. Is this error Microsoft error or Notes error. Edge for me can't open nas or networked pdf so I am ok with adobe acrobat it is just annoying that it is for other attachments as well.

Thank you

Denny

Windows controls that behavior
The default program a file extension with is maintained by Windows, not Notes.

Changed to reader as a workaround

I agree with you that it is windows and our main work notes database opens attachments as set by windows however it is only in the mail part where it has the additional dialog box "Open Attachment" and if you click open it brings up another box only if it is edge. I have changed it from edge to reader now its just annoying that you have to do that. Hopefully it will be fixed as more users go on to win 10.
