Anyone tried to create new java classes in Notes 9.01FP1, and tried using them from LS ?

Understand that I no longer (in Notes 9) need the

UseLSX '*javacon'
to enable LS2J, but no matter what, I get:

LS2J Error: Threw java.class.ClassNotFoundException: <my classname>.class

and the Class Source code is named:
<my classname>.java
when I imported it into the Domino Designer as a new Class.
The small Icon beside it shows J (ie Java source) instead of C (Class source).

Could this be the problem ?
I'm a rookie to eClipse and Java, but trying to get into it... steep leaning curve .. I believe..

Cheers, for the summer coding exercise !
