yes this is within IBM iNotes (customization to export and import mail documents as EML).
I think your question is aiming at http-proxy issues or other network related issues.
From what we have tested the behaviour is exactly the same using a remote client or local browser on the server.
It looks like there is some kind of limitation or encoding issue within the servers JVM.
Now the biggest question that drives us:
-> The standard IBM Notes Client (I guess basic too) can easily open EML files - also the ones we export with our customization in iNotes. So it looks like the Notes-Client is able to handle the "import" without any issue (but we do not know what API or method exactly is used).
-> As said we hit the same issue on the server if we use a JavaAgent or LotusScript Agent.
