Large POST Data iNotes issue

Dear community,

we currently have an issue with posting larger files into IBM iNotes (9.0.1 FP10 and above -> ND10 is currently out of scope)

Large files means all files that are larger than 64 KB. When we save the file with a server side agent (Java) the file does not contain the original data und is unreadable.

In this case we tried to upload (POST) an EML file (including the original e-mail + attachment) into iNotes. We also tried to perform the same manually using LotusScript but the result is the same.

We have setup the server accordingly and configured the limits of HTTP (PostData etc.) therefore we are not hitting any limits.

For us it looks like the POST data is not complete. According to this technote the data is split into chunks of 64 kb https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21240370 which is ok - but the data is not the same after the upload. It could be a stream or encoding issue. We have tried it with and without base64. Without base64 the result is even worse (data gets garbled)

Has anybody come across this before? Any ideas on how to get this solved?

Regards

- Tobias

So you're getting this from the iNotes web client?
Do you have the same issue if you try it on a browser running on the server?

iNotes WebClient

Hi Carl,

yes this is within IBM iNotes (customization to export and import mail documents as EML).

I think your question is aiming at http-proxy issues or other network related issues.

From what we have tested the behaviour is exactly the same using a remote client or local browser on the server.

It looks like there is some kind of limitation or encoding issue within the servers JVM.

Now the biggest question that drives us:

-> The standard IBM Notes Client (I guess basic too) can easily open EML files - also the ones we export with our customization in iNotes. So it looks like the Notes-Client is able to handle the "import" without any issue (but we do not know what API or method exactly is used).

-> As said we hit the same issue on the server if we use a JavaAgent or LotusScript Agent.
