SideBar Search no longer works

We have created a widget that displays a list of information in the clients sidebar.  If i click in the widget I can start typing, it opens a Find dialogbox and locates that document.  This has always worked fine until we upgraded to 9.0.1.  When I start typing a name, the Find dialog opens, but the Find button is grayed out.  In order to get this to work now, Click in the list, click preview button, click in list again and start typing -- only then does the widget get focus and the Find button is no longer grayed out  I did notice that the Find box looks different than in 8.5.3.  I don't see a problem searching mail, other database views etc. Just the sidebar.

What happened between 8.5.3 & 9.0.1?  Anyone else use the sidebar and have the problem?  Is there a solution or a setting?  Our users don't like not being able to easily search the sidebar.

Thanks for any help.

Thank You

Thank You.  Is there a place where I can track the progress of the SPR.  Doing a search in lotus support did not return any results.

Again -- Thank you.
