From the doco: "By default, specific View Indexes in mail databases are created, brought upto-
date and marked non-discardable through DBMT. By default this will only work for databases with these design templates :
StdR7Mail,StdR8Mail,StdR85Mail or StdR9Mail"

So to clarify, if we have mail templates that are based on StdR85Mail, but we call them StdR853Mail_Z, do we have to then add this template name to the DBMT_MailTemplate=  notes.ini variable so that the databases using these templates also get all the non discardable views updated, or does it pick up the fact that our templates are "based on StdR85Mail version 8.5.3" as can be seen on the design tab of the db properties box?

You'll have to add the notes.ini var
DBMT_MailTemplate=StdR853Mail_Z. We can revisit this in a future release to pick up inherited designs (did I use the proper phrase there ?).
