foreign domain is not working correctly

Hi !

I´ve a document for "foreign domain", which transfers emails to a separate domino server in a special "database".

That is still working.

Now I changed that "foreign domain" to a new location (to a new server).

Now I´ve the problem, that the emails are transfered to the new server, but that server returns with the error-message "user not found in directory..."

The server  does not recognize the mail file of the gateway, which is deposited in the document.

For a test, I´ve created a new "foreign domain" for the new server. That is working without problems. The emails are tranfered in the correct database on the new server.

I don´t understand that behavior !

I hope someone can help me !

Things to look at

Are you able to open the file?

Are the acls correct on the db?

If the os is not windows is the case (upper and lower) the same as in the document?

Is the routing to db correct when yo drop the email straight on that server? (change location doc)

Re: foreign domain is not working correctly
Hello Stefanie!

It seems to be related with some cache.

After edit the current foreign document, do you restart router and SMTP tasks?
Additionally, I suggest you to run updall task on Domino Directory.

I hope it helps!

Best Regards!

new guess

.. thanks for information.

yes, acl and database are ok.

I restarted the router / smtp task and start a updall on the names.nsf.

Now, I ve a new guess ..

The name of the domino server has the same name as the "foreign domain". Maybe that´s too confusing for the system :-)
