Notes traveler - unable to sync the email

I tried install Notes traveler build 9.0.1.0.201310231131 into new Samsung Notes 3 which is running on Android 4.3 version 3.4.0-1628120. Unfortunately, I was unable to sync the email since Notes traveler always prompted the "Connection error with server xxxxxx port 443. Initial sync is not complete. Can you advise how to resolve this issue. Thanks

Can you log in to your Traveler website

Hi,

Are you able to log in to your traveler website using a web browser?

eg. https://www.mydomain.com/traveler?

What happens if you try? Can you see something in the domino-logs?

Notes traveler - unable to sync the email

Hi Manuel, I was able to login https://www.mydomain.com/traveler with my notes id and password. In addition, I am able to execute the command to reset the notes traveler. Somehow it does not able to sync in mu Samsung Notes 3 which prompting the log such as "Connection error with server xxxxxx port 443. Initial sync is not complete". Not sure if this is due to Android version that non compatible or any security parameters to be revised? Please advise if any specific tips to resolve this issue. Thanks

Notes Traveler and GSNotes3

Hi, I just tested in SG Note3, it seems to be fine.

I would suggest to remove your traveler profile and re-connect.

Notes traveler in Samsung Notes 3

Dear Okio,

Can you advise how you remove your traveler profile? Also, which android version/kernel version used?

Somehow, I have reinstalled and reset many times but still unsuccessful.

Thanks,

Self signed certificate

Hi Tan,

Do you use self signed ssl certificates?

Can you try it (ONLY for testing) without ssl?

What does the Domino/Traveler console say, when you try to sync your device? Can you see error messages?

What does traveler tell you on "tell traveler show <username>" - does it show the users devices and can it access the users mailfile?

Are there other users for whom it is working correcty?

/Manuel

Notes traveler 9.0.1 - unable to sync the email

I got exactly the same problem with ver 9.0.1 with Samsung Notes 3 since the upgrade from ver 8 to 9. Under some unknown condition it can sync may but most of the time it got the "Connection error with server xxxxxx port 443. Initial sync is not complete." In some cases it also shown Error: HTTP/1.1 598 http/1.1 503 Service Unavailable Initial sync is t complete. During a days traveling, it suddenly can sync mail for down load, can sent mail store in outbox but did not show the update in send mail.

I did uninstalled and install many time and even rest the photo to factory default then install traveling from the beginning. It got the same error.

In previous version 8, never encounter such problem.

Same on GN3 with 4.4.2

Having exactly the same issue on my Galaxy Note 3. It is running Android 4.4.2 as supplied by Samsung (Build Number KOT49H.N9005XXUENB7).

The Traveler version I have installed is 9.0.0.1 (Build 201308201457)

The Server Version is 9.0.0.1.201310080709

Strangely, this same version of Traveler worked fine on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), which had Android 4.3 as supplied by Samsung

Accessing the Traveler website works fine, and this is how I get the APK to install. I tried uninstalling Traveler and reinstalling, but still nothing. Strangely, it seems that it has synchronized part of my Calendar, but refuses to do mail, or the rest of the calendar. I have included the log below after I enabled Logging

Same Problem

What is most confounding is that I have a loaner Galaxy S3  which runs fine. There is another employee here with the Note 3 - same carrier - no problems.

Mine will receive, look up addresses on the Notes Server, sync the calendar but will not send - messages hang in the outbox. Error messages are either connection error 443, or error http/1.1 598. I have reinstalled twice - same problem every time.

I can log into the server as well. There is something wrong with the Note 3. I am caught between our IT support and Samsung with a very expensive one way email device. aRRRRGGH.

Anyone solved this yet?

It is working for me now

After receiving a small update to Android on my phone this weekend (Unlocked, Network independent, Note 3 EU version N9005XXUEND3), I thought I would give this a try again. I connected to our Traveler server, downloaded the installer, installed it, and same thing :-( I checked with a colleague who has a Note 3 as well (network locked on a different network), and he said he never had issues at all with Traveler.

I then saw that there was an entry for IBM Notes Traveler on the Google Play store, and it was a later version. I uninstalled Traveler from my phone and installed the version from Google Play Store and now my traveler works, and I am able to send / receive mails and check calendar etc.

The version I installed from Google Play store is 9.0.1.0 Build version 201402261355.

I don;t know if this is dumb luck / coincidence, but it's working now so that's what counts. Hope this helps
