Hello,

I'm planning to upgrade my traveler server to 9 (from 8.5.3), I've tried in a test environment and the upgrade process was smooth but the server will not start. :-(

We have 2 domino servers, both 8.5.3 on RedHat Enterprise 6.2 (64Bit), the first is the mail&application, the second is the traveler only.

I've followed the instructions about upgrade to 8.5.3 release:  stopped domino server, removed traveler task from notes.ini then updated domino server.

There's no documentation on IBM website about upgrade domino server to 9...

Am I missing something, or I have to do some task after updating domino?

Thanks in advance.

Can you attach DominoInstall.log, please
Or send it to me ikhasin@us.ibm.com
I will check if installation went ok.
Server won't start - at all - or you can provide  screen console shot or some message?

thanks,
Irina Khasin.

Thank you,

I've sent to you the logs.

The server start without problems and seems to be working ok, except for traveler 9 that warn about domino version...

I think to have problems on traveler regarding  download of attachment but this is another story :-( , so first I want to fix domino version, then check about traveler

SOLVED!

the file string.res in /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/linux/res/C

for some reason was not updated.

Putted the correct file, solved the problem.

Thank you!

locale settings had changed?
Hi Umberto,

The log you've sent  was probably from "tmp" directory?
The full log should be in program directory (/opt/ibm/domino/notes/latest/linux/DominoInstall.log ), so I could not see the problem.

If your locale setting changed compared with the first time you installed - the new file will be in res/<locale>. Probably under your "res" you have two directories "C" which corresponds to default locale and some other - and that one was updated.

To find out which directory will be used during install, you can type "locale" its $LANG  value will be used as a resource (rec/<locale>)  path.

Thanks,
Irina.
