Domino Designer 9.0.1 fails to install on Win10 Pro

I just bought a new Windows 10 Pro machine and cannot get Domino Designer 9.0.1 to install successfully.  Notes and the Administrator Client both install and function with no problems.  However, if I include the Designer Client in the installation choices, the install will fail.

Symptoms:  The install process proceeds normally and fails during the "Verification" step.  A message box appears with this text: Verifying: "com.ibm.xsp.extlib.designer.tooling.feature.source_9.0.1.v00_00_20131022-0932"    Unexpected results have occurred during the provisioning operation.  Click the OK button and the installer will roll back the install.

I have attempted installing Notes & the Administrator Client alone, then applying FP4, then try to modify that installation and add Designer.  That doesn't work, either.

I've also attempted to install Designer after installing Notes & Administrator, FP4 and FP5.1.  That fails, too.

The machine I am installing on is a Lenovo MIIX 700 ( similar to a Windows Surface ).  I have not experienced any compatibility issues with any of my other software.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Domino Designer 9.0.1 fails to install on Win10 Pro
Hi Gary,

Have you tried downloading a new copy of the install package? There may be an issue with something in the installer you are using.

There might also have been an issue with the initial install. Try using the below tool to perform a full clean uninstall and try the Designer again:

Thanks,

Mark

Domino Designer 9.0.1 fails to install on Win10 Pro

Mark.  Thanks for the link to the "Nice" tool.  It allowed me to try several clean installs using various options.

I still cannot get Domino Designer to install on my Windows 10 device.  I CAN install Notes and Administrator, but not Designer.  I CAN NOT install the Open Social component with Notes.

Notes:  My MIIX 700 shipped from Lenovo with Windows 10 Pro installed as it's operating system.  I've installed Domino Designer on several other machines, but all of them had been upgraded from earlier version of Windows.  The MIIX 700 also uses a new version of Intel's M processor,, so I don't know if that has any impact.  This is the first time I've tried installing on a factory fresh Win 10 Pro machine.

Also Note:  IF I attempt to install the "Open Social" component with Notes, the Notes install will fail when the installer attempts to verify "com.ibm.opensocial.sapi.feature_9.0.1.2013022-1058".

Also Note:  IF I selected the default installation options for Notes, Designer and Administrator, I encountered a verification failure at "com.ibm.notes.roaming.provider.feature_9.0.1.20131022-0932."

I've tried installing as the LOCAL administrator, and as the Windows Domain Administrator, as well as selecting "Run as Administrator" when I execute.

No joy.

Also note:  It looks like this issue has been previously reported to IBM by other users.  Here are some related links::
