Please clarify the following:
1. We are planning to install BES10 v10.1 - all components on the same VM
2. Domino 9 with Traveler 9 will be installed on another VM
  • Can we install the BES 10 and Domino with Traveler in office network or should it be on DMZ
  • Do we need to have public ip's for either BES or Traveler.
  • Do we need SSL certificates for BES and/or Traveler.
  • In the BES 10v10.1 documentation, it is mentioned that BES 10 router can be in the DMZ.  Is it for security considerations that the router component is to be installed in the DMZ.
  • Any specific configuration for iOS and Android devices.

Is there any documentation regarding the installation/configuration of BES10 v10.1 with Domino/Traveler.

Just Installed BES10 and Traveler 9

Hi,

I just installed BES10 and Traveler9 about 2 weeks ago, it works like a charm.

unlike the other BES , BES10 does not have to sit on top of Domino, you can install it anywhere you like. BES has really good documentation , check out the architecutre document that you need to follow. http://docs.blackberry.com/en/admin/subcategories/?userType=2&category=BlackBerry+Enterprise+Service+10&subCategory=BlackBerry+Enterprise+Service+10

for traveler, I followed Traveler853 installation guide from the redbook http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/xpDocViewer.xsp?lookupName=IBM+Redbooks%3A+IBM+Notes+Traveler+hints+and+tips+for+a+successful+deployment#action=openDocument&res_title=PDF_of_IBM_Redbookscol_IBM_Notes_Traveler_hints_and_tips_for_a_successful_deployment&content=pdcontent

You can install both BES10 and Traveler in the internal network (don't need anything in DMZ) , provided your are managing Blackberry10 devices (Z10 ,Q10) because blackberry10 devices will connect to your Traveler via BES10 (BES10 is acting like a proxy).

You dont necessarily need 3rd party cert for Traveler as it's only working in internal network but it would be better to have 3rd party cert.

You dont need public IP for bes, you only need to adjust outgoing port in because bes require some license authentication , I think its called spr

BES10 and Traveler 9

Hi Okio,

Thank you for the information.

Have you tried to configure iphones or android phones with BES and Domino+Traveler inside office network.  Is there any issue - are you able to have secure workspace on the devices.

Thanks.

SWS and Traveler 9

We have deployed about 30 SWS (Secure Work Space) on IOS since the licenses are available since monday.

For deploying SWS you need BES 10.1.1 and special SWS Licenses....

Running fine with Traveler 9

SWS and Traveler 9

Hi Tob,

Did you install BES 10 or Traveler in DMZ, just want to confirm before doing the installation.

Also, did you install SSL cert on either or both the servers.

Thanks.

SWS and iPhone

Hi Tom,

am able to configure bb10 devices and android phones with bes10 and am getting the emails, calendar, etc.  but on iPhone, mails, calendar,... do not appear but the work apps, work connect and work browser icons are pushed.  On work connect after setting up the email client, I can see all the options, like email, contacts, calendar, todo etc.., but the data does not appear even after a day. Please let me know is there any configuration /setting that need to be done for iPhones.
