How to do I get the Compact task to compact all database, except one database in the root folder and all databases in a folder?

i.e. Compact all databases, except the domlog.nsf and the users' mailboxes in the mail folder.

MIght have to build a .ind file of the databases you want compacted.
notes.ini

 COMPACT_FILTER=

will work for the databases  you don't want compacted but that is limited in size and does not support directories...

If you build a .ind file of the databases you do want compacted  you can put that on the command line to compact....

I know, a PITA to maintain but just giving you options I know off the top of my head...

Should look into using DBMT and if your mail servers are clustered you don't have to worry about overlap and it will compact the mail files for you....

Send me mail if you need more information about DBMT after you google it and read up on it...   jpaganet@us.ibm.com

Will try compact_filter

Thanks for the reply John.

I'll try using the compact_filter in the notes.ini file.

Also, I'll have a look in using DBMT in our environment.

COMPACT_FILTER ?

Can you share the approximate limit on size?

I've never seen this variable mentioned before, and of course it's not listed in the notes.ini reference.

Thanks!
