Designer 9 install stalls on Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Finally got around to installing Designer 9 and ran into trouble. The install was OK at first (unpacking, verifying). After clicking OK to start the install proper I got the dialog which says something along the lines of "installing app, this may take several minutes" and has previous and next icons at the bottom. It sat there with the nav icons greyed out for @ 15 minutes before I gave up and used Task Manager to kill it. The good news is that my current install still works (Release 8.5.2FP2, Revision 20110323.0837-FP2 (Release 8.5.2FP4), Standard Configuration).

I spent a fair amount of time searching the IBM sites, Web, and found nothing helpful. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Works on our installs

We have 9 installed on a number of machines with Win7 pro 64Bit and no problems.

What we however did was remove the previous installs before proceeding. Generally we just keep the data folder if needed but got rid of everything else. You can just backup the notes.ini , id files and any other file you may think you need for 9.

I do recall my one developer installing over 8.5 and having an issue, however after it been removed, no problems.

Generally no issues. Hope you get sorted.

Uninstall the prior Notes version

You cannot upgrade your designer client from 8.5.x to 9.0, you first have to completely uninstall 8.5.x and install 9.0 from scratch
