Hi,

I've some trouble with an archive policy that isn't applied on the users Notes 9.0 client.

Created a policy on a Domino 8.5.2 server recenttly migrated to 9.0. No pb for creating (i already did it in the past), but when i launch the Notes client and login with a test user on which the policy should apply, nothing from the policy is activated.

The Notes client log.nsf shows that the "Dynamic Client Configuration"  updates the policy information ("Dynamic Client Configuration met à jour les informations de politique" in french...). But my policy is not applied....

Any ideas about what could be the pb ?

TIA,
Yan

Need more information about the Archive policy applied
Hi Yan, I have tested this scenario, its working for me. Can you please provide some more information about issue :Yan Benoist 1. Policy type : Explicit or Organisational 2. Which setting did you used for policy, Can you please provide the snapshot of Policy and Setting documents from Admin 3. Was it working properly before upgrading server ( i.e. policy was applied on client properly before upgradation)? 4. Are Client and template also upgraded after server upgradation? 5. Please provide synopsis of that user, to know what other policies are applied on that particular user. May be some other policy is overriding it. Thanks Arti Singh

Make sure...
Also make sure that the mail server specified in the active Location document is the actual server that you are connecting to.  Policy updates only come down from the home mail server.

Are any being applied

If you look at the hidden views in local names.nsf ($policies) do you see any?  Are the recent?  If not recetn you can delete them and restart the client.

Here is a technote on troubleshooting policies http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Troubleshooting_Domino_Policies

As others have said the users home mail server needs to match what is on the person doc (in hierarchical format)

Server name in location document

Hi all,

Thanks for your tips.

First i didn't found anything in the $Policies view and then replaced the ip @ i had in the location document with the Domino server's real name. Restarted the notes client and Policy is applied.

So, i'll try to remember this stupid error....

Thanks again for your help,

Yan
