Journal / Notebook Synchronization?

I'm extremely disappointed to see that the Journal / Notebook still has to be synchronized manually.

Much like the old 'Home' tab, the Discover tab makes it easy for the user to create (or link to their old) Notebook, but does not make it clear that the notebook needs to be synchronized in order to be pushed to the Blackberry / Traveler.

Bump - +10000 on this one... Any chance that this can simply be a preference somewhere??
I know that a preferences page has never traditionally been part of the Journal/Notebook database, but you could simply include the Journal configuration form fields from the configuration form in the Bookmark database, and then include an option similar to that in the current Contacts preferences, eg:

Enable "synchronise Notebook" on the replication and sync tab.
(required for iNotes and Traveler access to your Notebook content)

You also need to add the Notebook as an "Access and Delegation" feature - even when a user configures their Notebook to sync it currently doesn't restrict access to the Notebook.

IBM, please get rid of local PIM databases already

What I don't understand is why the local names/contacts and journal/notebook databases are not totally gone.

It all synchs to the mail file already, and the mail file copy is used by iNotes, Traveler, BES, you name it.

Why hold on this clunky survivance from the past ?

No one wants his contacts and journal stored in a *local* database, that's just a PITA !

Yes - it's a PITA!

This is 2014 for pete's sake - why am I still waiting to get my Journal/Notebook to sync with my mail file?

And for that matter - why doesn't the $journal view in the local replica sync with the server replica?

This is just nuts! Someone in development went to a lot of trouble to rename the Journal to Notebook for R8 - but they never finished the job and we're still waiting.

Wow, Still?

I plan to upgrade everything to 9 in Q4 and this option STILL isn't available?  It seems like something SO simple.
I would REALLY like the Notebook to automatically Synch to the mail file like the Contacts do.

Why do we not have this yet?
