In an open mic session on DBMT, there was a query raised about being able to show/display the usage of ID tables in a Notes application. Is anyone aware of the availability of this functionality at all?

Specifically the questions were -

Q: Is there any way for the administrator to see how full the ID tables are for a database?

A: I think there is.. We'll have to check on that.

and

Q: Is there a way to see what percent full the ID table currently is? I know you have some debug, but I don't know if it's in the shipped product or not.

A: There is, and we've seen an INI switch so we can report it, so certainly that can be an improvement.

DEBUG_COMPACT_REPLICA=1
If you set notes.ini:

DEBUG_COMPACT_REPLICA=1

        ncompact mail\sender.nsf -replica -ids_full  5

Compact -REPLICA, ID analysis checking for 5% fullness, DB: c:\server\data\mail\sender.nsf
Compact -REPLICA, ID analysis 0% full less then target 5% full, DB: c:\server\data\mail\sender.nsf

Not sure what other debug logging it enables, but may cause some verbose logging you may not care about...

Debugging information is useful

The debugging information from this notes.ini setting is useful and not too verbose.

It would be nice to be able to just see the results of the ID table analysis without having to actually process the compact though. I'm sure you could use IDS_FULL 99, but I currently have a situation now where I'm sure the size is 100% (ID Table error), but don't want the compact to run due to side affects of replica creation.

This would be useful to build up a history of the ID Table for an application and track its size and schedule maintenance in advance.
