When opening a mailbox using iNotes, we received the following error

Error 500

HTTP Web Server: IBM Notes Exception - Unknown OS error

I have tried:

load updall -R <filename>
load fixup -F <filename>
there is dmbt job that run on nightly basis.

There isn't any issue accessing the mailbox using Notes client.

Anyone experiencing this issue?

I quick work around is to create a new mailbox and move the emails over, however it is happening once a month to different user, appears to be random.

Re: HTTP Web Server: IBM Notes Exception - Unknown OS error
Hi Okio,

There was a technote on this issue but it doesn't seem to be available now. I will see about getting in restored. I have added the text from the technote below:

When you access a database on a Lotus Domino server using a Web browser, the database fails to open.  The browser displays "Error 500: Unknown OS error."

This error occurs when the database has been set as "Out of Service" in the Manage Clusters option under Tools/Database when using the  Domino Administrator client.  If this "Out of service" option is set the database is not accessible when using HTTP, but  it is available for cluster failover.

To correct the problem, the database should be returned to service.  To do so, place the database on a clustered server if it is not already (the server may be the only server in the "cluster" if it is not currently in a true cluster). Using the Domino Administrator client, Select Files tab;  select the database;  select Tools/Database;  select Cluster, then click option for "In Service".  Click OK to complete the change.

This error has been seen in cases where the server was not a member of a cluster, in that case it may require making a new copy of the database to resolve the issue.
