Embedded view locks up Designer

I have a non replica of a corporate database and using it in Notes 9 in a test environment.  The form has several embedded views - some to internal views and some to other databases.  When open the form the embedded view does not launch... which is normal if the view cannot be found... and in this case it cannot as I don't have a non replica of that specific database... However, clicking on the non launchable embedded view locks up the designer... There is no notification that the app is not responding... but no matter where I click, I get the dreaded beep and can do nothing anywhere in the designer client.  Last resort is to go to Task Manager and end the task... which does end Designer AND the client both... Has anyone else experienced a problem with embedded views... we use then extensively.  I will continue to explore this with other databases and report if this is a consistent problem or just a fluke in this one case.... Thank you

RE: Embedded view locks up Designer

Tested in other databases... if the view cannot launch it locks up the designer.  If the view is found and launches, then all seems to be fine.

I also tested this in 8.5.3 - if the view fails to launch it does NOT lock up the designer.

I can reproduce the reported issue
Thank you for the feedback.

I have opened an SPR and attached the requested log files to the problem report.

Forwarded, investigating
If you can make this happen again, could you run this from a command line console window (same folder as the Notes executable):
        nsd -hang

This should produce an nsd*.log file in the data\IBM_TECHNICAL_SUPPPORT folder,
and (possibly) javacore*.* files in the data\workspace\logs folder.

Could you attach the NSD*.log, and any javacore*.* files to a response?
