SSL and Wildcard

I have some 3rd party SSL certificates about to expire for Domino web server.

I assume I we still have to use OpenSSL and KYRTool. Please confirm that the  Notes - Server Certificate Admin database has not been updated and remains no longer part of the process.

Has anybody successfully used OpenSSL and KYRTool with a 3d party certifier on a Domino server for wildcard certificates? e.g, *.ourcompany.com

Is this known to work well?

Yes it works

Yes,OpenSSL and KYRTool also works for 3rd party Wildcard certificates as well. I have seen huge enterprise level companies being able to do that setup using those tools.

IBM Tools for wildcard
The Notes - Server Certificate Admin database can be used to request for a wildcard certificate. However it can only handle SHA-1 certificates, which will be out of support soon.

OpenSSL and KYRTool works well with wildcard certificates.
