Cant open attachments after migrating to Notes 9

Morning,

 

                  I am a SysAdmin, and i have a end user who has just migrated from Lotus Notes 8 to IBM Notes 9. Upon migration, user says that they cannot open attachments that are directly send to them, however, they can open forwared attachments. Does anyone know what might cause this, and is there a fix?

Hello Trent!

Any error is presented?
Is it happening with all users or with a specific one?

By default, Notes will use definitions of OS to open an attachment.

If it is possible, provide us additional information regarding the issue.

Cant open attachments after migrating to Notes 9

There are no error messages and so far she is the only user i have heard of with this issue unfortuntely.

The short and skinny is when she double clicks on attachment, nothing happens. Then she tries to right click and save but, the save option is greyed. So then she keeps clicking several times and one of the docs opened(not sure of type). So i asked her to fwd me one of the offending emails and it opened fine for me. Then she was fwd'd the same message and it opens no problem.

We still need more info here...

Does this happen all file-types or is it specific to a certain set?

E.g. do text files open but MS Office attachments not open?

This happens to all attachments pre-upgrade right? All attachments sent to her post upgrade open ok?
