Does Domino 9 support VSS for backups???

Currently using Lotus Domino 9.0.1 server on a Windows 2008 R2 64-bit operating system standalone server.

We'd like to "virtualize" this server and have it run on a VMware ESXi Host server.

Done this a few times in the past without any problems at all.

But we're going to use a new backup program (VEEAM Backup and Replication, v7) to backup all of our VMs (Virtual Machines).

VEEAM uses VSS quiescence to "freeze" the virtual server, take a snapshot and then "thaw" the server while it backs up the aforementioned snaphot.

Problem in the past was that Exchange, SQL and Domino didn't work with VSS very well and you needed special "backup agents" to back those servers up.

Exchange and SQL will now work with VSS,

But I can't find any information to confirm or refute that Domino 8.5.x or 9.0x will work with VSS.

Can anybody help me out - we may be forced to switch to Exchange as I can't justify the price of a separate backup program just for Domino.

Thank you.
