Hi.

'Auto after first use is set'. If I have the view in question open and someone adds a document, what is the realistic time scale for the view I have open to refresh by itself and show the newly added document .. ?

Maybe I'm just being impatient ..!

Regarding the formula ... database is on the server. We have a very large database here - over 14GB - which was maintained by an external IT company, along with all other apps, prior to my arrival to take over development and maintenace in-house.

They added in a nighlty agent to act on numerous views to replace @Today, :@Yesterday etc ... with hard coded date in format of [15/04/2014].

This is deemed to speed up the view refresh and display.

As my view had constant refresh symbol and blue circle freezing happening almost constantly, I added in similar routine and now there is no constant refresh symbol nor blue circle. Happy users ..!! As numerous people kept the offending DB open in the background and then complained when MS Word froze with blue circle. It was the Notes DB in the background locking everything up it seems.

I will monitor again today and see how it performs.

Thanks for the replies.

Andy

questions
Not sure if we are chasing a NIF/view issue or a notes client display issue other other.

1) To clarify,  If you hit F9 (as opposed to shift F9) the view does refresh?

2) If you close and re-open the view after a doc is added does the view properly refresh?

3) If instead of 1) you goto the command prompt and run updall <dbname>  does the view properly refresh or show the display indicator?

It is not clear how the formula is working....how is that implemented?
