Verse on Premise - Issue

Hello,

Today I have tried to setup the IBM Verse On Premise application on our server. I have followed the steps and not had any issues.

The problem that I have is that when I log on via the /verse, I get the error 'Unable to load folders from network.'. I have checked and the Folder references are enabled, and the only message I get on the console is the following:

[073C:0011-13FC] 31/01/2017 16:29:47   HTTP JVM: A required argument has not been provided. For more detailed information, please consult error-log-0.xml located in e:/Lotus/Domino/data/domino/workspace/logs
[073C:0011-13FC] 31/01/2017 16:29:47   HTTP JVM: Can't open folder: . For more detailed information, please consult error-log-0.xml located in e:/Lotus/Domino/data/domino/workspace/logs

If I then check the log file mentioned in the error, it just displays the following:

2017-01-31T16:29:47.667+00:00 SEVERE A required argument has not been provided com.ibm.verse.domino.backend.MailSource
2017-01-31T16:29:47.667+00:00 SEVERE Can't open folder:  com.ibm.verse.domino.queryparser.FolderQueryStrategy

Could someone point me in the right direction if I am missing something (not sure what though). I have tested on multiple mail files and all get the same issue, so it leads me to believe it is a server issue, rather than a mail file issue.

Maybe folder version?

It could be a folder version issue.  Try upgrading the folder design to the latest.

You could also create a brand new mail file to test with just to make sure it's not the database.

New Mail File

Hi

So I have created a brand new email file and this time, the Inbox does load (from the Mail Icon at the top), however if I try to filter through the folders on the left (Ie All Documents, Inbox etc), I still get an error and receive the same errors on the Domino Console

[073C:000D-0EE0] 01/02/2017 10:29:07   HTTP JVM: A required argument has not been provided. For more detailed information, please consult error-log-0.xml located in e:/Lotus/Domino/data/domino/workspace/logs
[073C:000D-0EE0] 01/02/2017 10:29:07   HTTP JVM: Can't open folder: . For more detailed information, please consult error-log-0.xml located in e:/Lotus/Domino/data/domino/workspace/logs

Does anything else need to be enabled on the Domino Server (ie another task) that could be causing the issue?

Also I am not sure why this does not work on my current mail file as it has been upgraded to latest template, view indexes re-created, FT Indexes created.....

No just worked for me.

There is nothing special that I can think of, I just installed FP7 and the VOP hot fix.

Just thinking out loud.  On my setup I'm running VOP on the mail server so it's all local so no need to access the mail file over the network.  Is yours?

Traveler?

Ok, Yes I am running VOP on the mail server as well. The only thing I can think is that we are running Traveler on the same mail server, not sure whether this is causing any issues....

Doubt it.

I'm running Traveler on the box too.

I guess it could be a bug.

Just trying to work my way out of the error entries ...

... that second error says there's a folder that isn't set. It's set to null text. It does look as if some needed folder location is missing.

I'm not sure what the .xml output log says, so I'm not sure it'll be enlightening.

Make sure the "Make this site accessible to web search site crawlers" setting is DISABLED
Server document:  Internet Protocols -> Domino Web Engine

Nice work Yingle Jia!

I would never have found that, nice work!  Just enabled the setting on my config and sure enough the same error occurred.
