SSL_SESSION_SIZE - regression or needed again for R9.0.1FP5HF136 ?

We have just upgraded our backup Domino Server to R9.0.1FP5HF136 and JVM SR16FP20 to do some testing before applying to the production servers

We have started to get SSL_SESSION_SIZE messages in the log when SSL used to access this server.  No crashes, just this supposedly obsolete message.

Searching the Internet and Forums this seems to have been a fix for issues in R6-R8.5.3 but now obsolete in R9.

http://blog.tomcat2000.com/blog/tomcat2000.nsf/dx/domino-9.0.1-a-notes.ini-variable-to-be-removed.htm

I have checked the Server notes.ini file and checked the Server Configuration Document for ini settings and can find no reference to SSL set anywhere.

08/03/2016 12:28:51   New SSL session data length of 103 bytes is larger than the current size of 100 bytes.
08/03/2016 12:28:51   You may want to set the Notes.ini variable SSL_SESSION_SIZE to at least 103 bytes.

Even more confusing, the documents I have found suggest the default should be 5000 bytes, not the 100 we seem to have.

Does anyone have any useful information on this ??

Thanks in advance

Ian

Hi Ian,

It looks like this is a regression starting in 9.0.1 FP5 Interim Fix 1.

The default should be 5000 bytes so you can set it in the notes.ini to stop this error form occurring.

Thanks,
Mark
