Upgrading OpenSocial component from 9.0 to 9.0.1

I currently have Domino 9.0 with the OpenSocial component installed/configured. Is it necessary to also install the OpenSocial component again for 9.0.1 if upgrading from 9.0 to 9.0.1 or is that automatically detected and configured?

Thanks

re OpenSocial component
Hello Rob

After you upgrade a Domino=AE server= that runs Shindig from version 9.0. to version 9.0.1, you must re-enable the OpenSocial component using a new setting in the configuration settings document.

In Domino 9.0, by default, the Domino configuration settings document includes a Social Edition tab in which you specify settings that are required for the OpenSocial component. Beginn= ing with release 9.0.1, the Social Edition tab is not available by default. Although settings that you previously configured on this tab are preserved following the upgrade, those settings are not used unless you re-enable the OpenSocial component. :

To enable the OpenSocial component, complete the following steps:

From the Domino Administrator client, click File > Open Server and open the Domino server that runs Shindig.

Click Configuration, and then click Server > Configurations.

Open the configuration settings docu= ment for editing and on the Basics tab, set the value of the field Configuration for Domino Server with Shindig to Enabled. After you enable this setting, the configuration settings document displays the Social Edition tab and the OpenSocial component for the server is enabled.

Installers
Just to be clear: When you upgrade Domino from 9.0 to 9.0.1 using the installer, you will also need to run the 9.0.1 OpenSocial Component installer in order to upgrade the component from 9.0 to 9.0.1..

Thanks for the info ...

Thanks for the info Tom and Doug. That's exactly what I needed to know.

So after first running the 9.0.1 Domino server installer AND OpenSocial component installer I will then need to follow the steps as outlined by Tom to "re-enable" the OpenSocial component.

BTW, the provided IBM link seems to be dead.

Thanks again
