Hi all,

I am trying to construct a view that will only list documents applicable to the current user. I can see that @username will work predictably on local databases but not on databases residing on the server.

The database in questions resides on the server. Does anyone have a work around for this that works reliably?

Many Thanks

another option

A reader field, as suggested by D Porter, will certainly work and give you the best security if that is what you are looking for. It also brings with it a possible performance penalty in a database with many documents. A lighter-weight option is to use a single-category view (also, less secure if there is a concern about users seeing each others documents).

Are you talking about a private view?
These work for me on a DB on a server using @UserName in the view selection formula where a field in each doc includes the name it's trying to match.

I read your question as talking about seeing docs for a user while the other replies were about controlling access to docs.
