thumbnails not displaying in Rich Text field

I have rich text fields on a form.  My user wants to see all the thumbnails of formats such as wmv, jpg, gif, mp4, etc.  The thumbnails show in Windows Explorer in a folder but when attached to the Notes form, only the jpg shows the thumbnail.  Can anyone shed some light on why some show and others don't?

Can't say for sure, but I've noticed other settings ...

Windows Explorer has settings that display thumbnail pictures, but that setting doesn't change the application settings elsewhere in Windows Explorer.

I don't really know whether Windows will support the use of thumbnails for other images, when they're embedded. Maybe cross-referencing how the .jpg file format is registered in Windows Explorer, will help figure out what the other formats will support.
