OpenSocial Gadget Problem

Dear all,

 

Please help.

I have a problem with the OpenSocial Gadgets.
I have configured everything from documentation like this "http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/IBM_Domino_9.0_Social_Edition_OpenSocial_Deployment_Cookbook". 
Goal is to implement IBM Connections 4.5 openSocial gadgets.
I already tried to configure this but I started again by first using the test widget "http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Verification_OSC90"


I had already done this in two test environments :).

But in this situation there is something wrong.

I'm receiving this error.

There is nothing in de logs. Logs.nsf of (Support -> View Log and View Trace).
I have already set some debug settings.

Hi Gert-Jan,

So that you are aware, the Unit Test Widget described on the Verification page (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Verification_OSC90) was updated on July 17 at approximately 1am GMT.  If you imported the Widget before then you will need to re-import it.  However, if this was the issue you were seeing, I would expect you to find this symptom in your Notes client logs: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Troubleshooting_OSC90#CLPEE6017W%3A+Error+preloading+the+gadget+at+{URL+to+the+OpenSocial+Gadget+XML}

If you are rendering only the Unit Test Widget, you should only need to look at the Notes client logs (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Collecting_support_data_OSC90#Collecting+Support+Data+in+Notes), unless you have the remote override enabled (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21627450) in which case you would want to look at the Domino Server with Shindig logs as well - see more below.  

If you are rendering the Connections gadgets in Notes, you'll want to check not only the Notes client logs, but also the OSGi logs on the Domino Server with Shindig (http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Collecting_support_data_OSC90#OSGi+on+DOTS).  You can enable more logging on the server by following the instructions here: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/dx/Collecting_support_data_OSC90#OpenSocial+Gadgets+and+Embedded+Experiences

To clarify, do you literally see nothing in your Notes client logs, or do you only not see logs related to the gadget rendering?

No error's found.

I could really not find any information related to this gadget/widget in any log file.
 
It is very strange. Normaly you will see the gadget trying to render, but I am opening the gadget and directly (with a second) I am receiving the error.
I have set all debug parameters to FINEST.

Do you have any suggestions. Could this something on the client, or shindig server, or widget catalog or cred_store problem. ?
I already read the steps in the troubleshoot guide. A lot of errors in this document I already had in the past :), in test environments. I have done this configuration in test labs but in this situation it is not working. :(

Strange behavior

I tried to follow the steps described in below url.

When I try to register/create a new OpenSocial Gadget I'm receiving this error. " Failed creating the widget.  See error logs for more details. 

 Error 500" --

If I use the OpenSocial gadget url in MS Internet Explorer, the xml is loaded.

 

I think the problem is on the Shindig server. The Shindig server cannot load any url. !!

Do you happen to have the remote override enabled in your Notes client? http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21627450

If so, there is a known issue that is being investigated where creating widgets when the remote override is enabled will cause this type of failure.

It should not affect your ability to render the widget, however, but you can try turning the remote override off and seeing if it solves your problem.

Update !!

Hi Stanton, thanks for your reply.

I'm now receiving this error, after disabling "remoteServerOverride".

Create a new OpenSocial is still not working.
But there are new are messages when I try to open " Test Gadget and Container Domain Configuration"

Update 2 !!

I almost solved the issue.

I have added "localhost" and "127.0.0.1" to the proxy settings in the location document. This customer is using a proxy server.

Only now I'm receiving this error:

Error 500: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: com.ibm.jsse2.util.j: PKIX path building failed: java.security.cert.CertPathBuilderException: PKIXCertPathBuilderImpl could not build a valid CertPath.; internal cause is: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: The certificate issued by OU=Equifax Secure Certificate Authority, O=Equifax, C=US is not trusted; internal cause is: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Certificate chaining error 

Where do I need to check ?
I'm not receiving any ssl error if access the connections server url.

Almost Solved :)

Hi Stanton

I have imported the SSL cert of the connections url to the truststore of the WAS server.
This root cert was missing. :(

I will update this post tomorrow.

HI stanton,

 

This day, it is only working on my workstation. Updates and EE.

But it is not working anymore with a Citrix client. :(
I have set this setting to true: com.ibm.rcp.toolbox.opensocial.provider/remoteServerOverride=true, because we are working with citrix clients.

Did you ever re-enable the remoteOverride for the Citrix clients?

What is failing on the Citrix client?  Are there errors in the Notes client or server logs?

Hi Stanton,

Yes I have set remoteServerOverride to true because this customer is using citrix.
It only works on my admin workstation and inotes is also working.
I'm not receiving any errors in client or server.
Same problem as before.
Is it possible to start a remote session , so I can show you the problem.
