Notes Client 9.x & Extended MAPI Support

Our client is using MS Dynamics GP for payroll and is unable to click the "Send Mail..." button (grayed out). I'm working to check whether the MAPI subsystem is installed and/or the local Notes client is the default program for MAPI. I read where GP requires extended MAPI (sounds very Microsoft). Do modern Notes clients (e.g. 8.5 and 9.x, especially) support simple and extended MAPI? I just need to rule this out as a root cause of their issues. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks for the confirmation. So, MS is punishing customers not using Exchange/Outlook BUT using other MS products like Dynamics. Nice...
