Getting Lotus Notes in Fusion to open URLs in Mac Browser

Running Lotus Notes 9.0 in VMWare 5.0.3 on Mac OS X ML 10.8.4. I have set the preference in LN to run on the OS preferred Web Browser. I have set the preference in VMWare to "Open Web Files and links" in your Mac Applications. But when I click on a link in Notes, it opens in Chrome in Windows.

How can I get LN to open a link in Safari on my Mac?

It is most likely a setting in Fusion.

I haven't used Fusion, but I have used Parallels. In Parallels there is a setting to have links open in Safari on OSX. It is not something you can set in the Notes client to do.

Still can't get this to work

I switched to Parallels but I still cannot get this to work. In P I changed so I links in Windows should open in Safari. In other programs it works. In Lotus I said to use the OSes default web browser. Links in Lotus open in IE. Maybe something is wrong in the registry?
