What is the difference in an Interim Fix download and a Fix Pack download?  Need to get the latest updates for Domino 9.0.1.

TIA

Sharon

Re: Interim Fixes versus Fix Packs
Hello Sharon!

The TN below describes the differences between Fix Packs, Upgrade Packs, etc:

> Differences between Notes/Domino Maintenance Releases, Fix Packs & Upgrade Packs
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=463&uid=swg21368141

Today, the latest release for Domino is 9.0.1 Fix Pack 5.
Additionally was developed the Interim Fix 1 and 2.
The Interim Fix 2 was released on March 25,2016 and fix the SPR listed on document below:
> Interim Fixes & JVM patches for 9.0.1.x versions of IBM Notes, Domino, iNotes & Notes Browser Plug-in
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21657963

If you are facing any issue related on respective SPRs, I strongly suggest you to install Interim Fix 2.
In other way, Domino 9.0.1 FP5 is sufficient.

I hope it helps!

Best Regards!

Need further clarification

Rodrigo,

Thanks for the prompt response.  Is an Interim fix considered a Maintenance Release?  I am not sure where it fits into the upgrade scheme.  I will have them install fix pack 5, but do they also need to install the two Fix Pack 5 interim (1 & 2) installs and are the other interim fix packs also included in the Fix Pack 5 interims or do I need to install ALL interim fix packs?

Appreciate your help.

TIA,

Sharon

Interim Fix vs Fix Pack

Interim Fixes are not considered Maintenance  Releases.  They are released after the Maintenance Release (Fix Pack) in order to fix a critical issue which was discovered after the release of the Fix Pack, bu before a new Maintenance release is due out.  They will usually be incorporated int he next Fix Pack when it is released.  Additionally, when you issue the "Show Server" command from the server console, the Interim Fix will display as a Hot Fix, and not as a Fix Pack.
