stand alone?

Some very basic questions about the browser plug-in.  I'm trying to understand the options for install.  I'm confused about whether the Notes client is or isn't required and how the plug in is  installed.

On a computer that already had Notes client  (admin and designer) installed, I ran the setup.exe from our normal install folder for the Notes client and selected the browser plug in.  Now when the Notes client is installed I can access Notes applications via a browser and the notes:home URL.  But is the Notes client still required to be installed on the machine  in order for this to work?  If the client has to be installed, what's the advantage of the plug in - why run Notes in a browser if you have the Note client?

I see references to a stand alone version - does this version require the Notes client to be installed too? The installation instructions I've found mention simply running setup.exe.  What setup.exe?  Is this the same setup.exe you use to install the client?

Here are the instructions I've looked at and I'm just not clear on this: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/dominowiki.nsf/xpDocViewer.xsp?lookupName=Notes+9.0.1+Browser+Plug-in#action=openDocument&res_title=Installing_the_plugin_NBP901&content=pdcontent

Re: stand alone?
Hi Tandy,

The Notes client is not required on the machine to use the Notes Browser Plugin.

The Notes client and browser plugin can be installed on the same machine but cannot be used at the same time.

stand alone install?

Ok, but how do I install the standalone version?  I see reference to a setup.exe and min and max options.  But the setup exe that I run launches the install wizard where I can install the Notes client and the browser plug in.  I don't think this is the stand alone version.  Where is the setup.exe that's needed to install the stand alone version?
