Hi,

Is it possible to create a pop up or dialog type box to collect user input, using Notes client functionality, not Xpages. ( Notes 9.0.1 )

I have a table with a column for Comments.  I'd like to be able to get a longish plain text ( not rich text ) comment from the user but don't want to upset the table alignment/spacing by having a wrapping field. So was hoping I could use a pop up to capture, or show the contents of, a text field. I don't need to display it in the column as I can just have a marker to say if it exists or not.

I thought I could use an Action button to either create or edit as needed, but am stumped on how to actually collect the text.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Alan

Browser or Notes Client?

In a browser, stick a rollover around the text in the column you want to open a new window

In Notes, you'll need an action button on the view, using (as Howard said) @dialogbox

Idiot!

Doh, can't believe I was such an idiot.  I had looked at dialogbox but discounted it for some reason that escapes me now.

A second, closer, look put me straight and that part of my app is working fine now.

Many thanks

Alan
