Domino Server Console over Admin Client

Hi, We recently updated our development server from 8.5.3 to 9 ..

Something is strange: After the update the Server Console is suspiciously "quiet"..

it doesn't print anything: no _dump, no System.out.println, no messages when i restart http task..

This is on the Admin Client (yes i checked all the checkboxes in the properties window) and on the server console itself..

Anybody knows something about that?

RE: Domino Server Console over Admin Client

Hi there

See the screenshot in Attachment..

  • tell amgr run .... -> no response like "started execution ......"
  • tell http restart .... -> no resopnse like "http restarted......." -> There are logs from the new http server though..

Also print outs from applications are totally ignored (_dump.., System.out.println...., printStackTrace....)

Make sure all your event types are checked like the above screenshot. If you can't find them there is a twistie above the Domino Command field.

RE: Domino Server Console over Admin Client

Thanks for your answer

All the 6 checkboxes are checked..

i have the same effect:

  • in the console of the admin client
  • the console directly on the server
  • in the log.nsf of the server

the server refuses to log anything.. strange, we updated also other servers to R9, but only this one server have this problems..

Solution

Ok, so first of all stop your "Events Monitor" task.

You can do this from the server tab, then go to the point "Server tasks" on the left side. Right mouse click - stop task, and then look in your console.

Chances are everything is now there, if this is the case, then your DDM/Events config is either corrupt or just wrong.

The fix is easy, just go to the "Configuration" tab in your admin client.

On the left there is a point for "Monitoring configuration", open it.  There is an under point "Log Filters", just delete the contents of the view. There are other methods to do this too, but this is the most simple.

Now start your Events task using the server tab, tools on the side then "Start", "Event Monitor".

Sincerely
