Can I run online compact on log.nsf while the server is running

Hi All,

 

Currently the log.nsf shows 3.512 MB and 22.7% . Please let know will this size degrade the server performance what is the percentage denotes. What is the maximum allowed size.

Can I run compact -b while the server is running.

Log.nsf & compact

You can run Compact -B or Compact -b with the server running on the log.nsf.  There is not a maximum size for the log.nsf, but once teh file gets over a couple of GB's, you may see issues with the server performance.  You can also stop the server, rename the log file, and then restart the server to recreate the log.nsf.  The % denots "Free Space" in the log file.
