Using Java 8

Hello,

I have installed FP8 on my computer and at the server. Now I have two Java-Runtime-Directories:

- <Notes-Program Dir>\jvm (which is the Java 8)

- <Notes-Program Dir>\jvm1.6 (which is the Java 6)

When I change the project properties in the designer to use the Java 8, I get the error message that the Buildpath is incomplete. Is it not possible to create Java-Code which is using the Java 8 runtime? How can I solve this problem?

Thanks for help!

Uwe

Been too long since I looked at this. Isn't there a JDK directory out there, too?

I'm not saying that's all y'hafta do.

I remember in 853 having trouble getting the higher version to stay selected, too.

Interested to see what turns up in 9.

Compiling with Java 1.8 is coming in the next FP
I may have misunderstood your question. 901FP8 uses Java 1.8 run time for Notes & Designer. But as for compiling code written in designer, it still uses Java 1.6 to compile. The ability to compile in Designer with 1.8 is coming in the next FP. It requires a number of pre-reqs including an Eclipse upgrade which did not fit into FP9
