Hi,

We have a requirement in which we wish to hide a group (say My Group1 Grp) , so that it won't get resolved on To/cc/Bcc from all users expect 4 users who are from senior management.

Also, all users including the 4 users added as exception should be able to send mail to thisgroup.

I tried putting reader field through code with 4 exception user id's along with LocalDomainServers and LocalDomainAdmins, but users not mentioned in reader, if try to send mail , the same is getting bounced back.

Is there a possibility to achieve this.

Thanks.

Hello Sheel!

It's not clear to me what exctly do you need.

What do you means with "it won't get resolved on To/cc/Bcc from all users expect 4 users who are from senior management"?

Best Regards!

You had it right
Reader fields will hide the group from showing up in the To and CC etc and also the view
If you want user to still be able to send mail however you will need to revert back to Domino 6 days.

Take a look at this technote

Lotus Software Knowledge Base Document

Title:        How have hidden groups and mail addressing changed in Domino 6.x?

Hide group using document properties
You can set restriction in specific group using document properties , instead of using agent.
  1. Open the Domino Directory
  2. From the Groups view, highlight the specific group that should be hidden.
  3. Right-click and select Document Properties.
  4. On the Security (key) tab, uncheck "All readers and above."
  5. Place a check mark next to any users who should see the Group document.  Users not selected will be unable to see that particular group in the Groups view.
Select these 4 users along with LocalDomainServers and LocalDomainAdmins as reader of this document.

From a Notes client, a user who does not have permission to use the group receives an error when attempting to send mail to the restricted group.

Check document "Hiding Domino directory Groups and restricting users from sending mail to Groups"

Please update if issue got solved or not.
