Can't use native client

I sit behind a massive firewall with only a few ports opened to the web. If I want to get one to this site, I have to go through a massive security process. We get to the web via IE running on a terminal server and I'm not allowed to install code on the TS.

So...web only allowed, guess I just generate duplicate posts which is just stupid (sorry, but I've been doing this since R4 and this has never been an issue; we move to newer 'better' versions and suddenly the forum is cluttered with duplicated crap??? No other word for this than stupid).

The early bird catches the worm
Better get started with the process then.  It'll make your life so much easier.

Some thoughts:

You can register a server ID in the -Notes Access Registration- Link db
Then the server can replicate the databases.  also gives better control over Full text indexes.
Having a server replicating a select few databases on a specific foreign sever might be easier to get through the security process than opening a port for a user. And the databases are accessible to others too. Note that they would need to register their ID personally in the -Notes Access Registration- Link db, but if they then use that ID to access your server and use the databases everything should be hunky dory.

Note that a personal registration might be done using client outside of the firewall, say on your home machine.

Kind regards,

Lars
